Last weekend Chris and I traveled to NYC for Liz and Ernest’s destination engagement session, and it was such a beautiful weekend to be in the city! The trees and flowers were blooming everywhere, the skies were a gorgeous blue, and the sunsets and light were just to die for. Add in some amazing food, visiting with some old friends, and getting to spend a day with Liz and Ernest, and it really couldn’t have been any better!
Liz and Ernest both grew up in small towns in Kentucky, and are both University of Louisville alumni. But they didn’t meet until they were both living in NYC, through a U of L alumni event. They talked the night away, a mutual love of travel, people, bourbon, and of course the Cardinals bringing them together. Their first official date took place at the Met (so of course we had to stop by there for some photos)! Getting the chance to explore with these two and hear their stories was just incredible. Hearing about Liz’s work in Africa and on political campaigns in the states, and about Ernest’s family and his time working in the city painted a picture of two people with incredible hearts, who I know are going to change the world together! We strolled through Central Park, made our way to Lincoln Center, made a short stop at their apartment, walked through Eataly (one of their favorite spots!), and explored the West Village (observing some interesting characters!) before ending the evening.
Here are just a few of our favorites from the day!
Afore-mentioned Characters in the West Village: Above: The day of our session was the day Apple Watches shipped. This lady was very excited to show hers off! 😉 Below: A gentleman was enjoying a martini on his front porch, then wandered off to talk to a neighbor, leaving his martini behind.
Liz and Ernest–Thank you so much for showing us around the city, and for being so awesome! We loved hanging out and creating for you guys 🙂 Congratulations!
Thank you all for stopping by the blog, and I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
