Where do I even begin with this wedding? We were so thrilled and honored to be asked to document Josh and Jillian’s wedding day, for a lot of reasons. First, Jillian and Josh are wedding creatives themselves–Jillian is a photographer, and they both do videography. For them to trust us with their day means so much to us! But more importantly, I’ve known Jillian and her family for over ten years. We were marching band families together, and I’ve seen Jillian grow up from a giggly little girl carrying the marching band banner into a beautiful, equally giggly and joyful woman! It was so wonderful to be there with all of them to celebrate true love!
Josh and Jillian initially met at a scavenger hunt Jillian was invited to by a friend! They went their separate ways, then later made plans to meet up at a conference in LA, where Jillian was living at the time. But, Jillian ended up leaving for a mission trip when the conference was going to be, and their meeting was postponed. They reconnected the next year to discuss the conference, and then started chatting more via Skype. He asked her out via Skype, and they’ve been having fun and loving being together ever since! These two laugh so much together, and just have so much fun doing life together! Their wedding was so perfectly “them,” from the Disney and Star Wars props in the photos, to Jillian’s gorgeous vintage inspired look, the vintage cameras and video cameras on the tables, and the succulents and hydrangeas used in the decor!
Here are some of our favorites from the day (oh my gosh, it took me FOREVER to narrow down our favorites into a somewhat reasonable number!), complete with lots of fun and laughter!
Seriously how beautiful is Jillian? Loved her Jenny Yoo dress!
I love this! Jillian actually noticed this shot while they were walking and she was holding a flower that had fallen out of her bouquet. Luckily Chris was tall enough to make it happen 😉
There were so many sweet moments between Jillian and her dad. This is probably one of my favorites, just before she walked down the aisle!
I call this the “OMG we’re married!!!” moment 🙂
Super awesome details included vintage cameras (the majority of which they already owned), Jillian’s favorite flowers: succulents and hydrangeas, and an amazing pair of teal heels from Anthropology! Not pictured: Breakfast for dinner, which was A-mazing!
Their first dance was to the song “Rainbow Connection.” So fun!
Off to the honeymoon in Jillian’s family’s MG! I love everything about this image; it’s definitely high on my list of favorites from the day!
Josh and Jillian: CONGRATULATIONS, and thank you so much for having us there to celebrate with you all! We had such an amazing time with you, your friends, and family. Such an awesome party! You all are awesome, and I’m pretty much still smiling, because your joy is so contagious. Have an amazing time at Disney!
